Italian Cookies

4 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt

1 cup melted shortening (5 big tsp)
1 Tbsp anise
2 Tbsp almond
1 Tbsp vanilla
4 eggs


1) Sift dry ingredients in large bowl.
2) Beat 4 eggs in small bowl
3) Add melted shortening and flavorings; mix well.
4) Dump in wet on top of dry and mix with spoon
5) Roll into 1 inch balls and bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 for 12-15 minutes


GLAZE:
2 cups confectioner sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond
1 tsp anise

Add enough water to make thick glaze. Frost cookies with while still warm
